Courage

“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you you are wrong.  There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right.  To map out a course of action and follow it to the end requires courage.”   ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is it that you have always wanted to do but fear holds you back?  What record plays in your head telling you that you cannot succeed?  When we give too much credence to other people’s opinions we do ourselves a disservice.  No one has the power to dictate your soul’s path, unless you give them permission.  When you give permission you are not being true to yourself or your soul’s purpose in life.  Breathe deep and think deep about what it is you want to go for.  Take that first step and see what happens.  If it is the right move for you the energy will flow and it will soon begin to feed on itself.  Doors will open and so will your heart.  You will find a new found energy to contribute to your desire.  If many doors close you will have to decide if it is worth it to you to continue on or move in a different direction.  Either way, you can stand strong knowing you had the courage to pursue something deep within you.

As you follow your path in life there will be many challenges that appear along the way.  It is your choice whether to confront these challenges or run from them.  My experience has been that the learning takes place when we tackle our own challenges in an emotionally healthy way.  If it is something you can handle on your own, deal with it.  If it is something deeper and you need professional guidance, make that call.  Always keep in mind that the lessons you avoid along the way inevitably show up repeatedly on your journey.  The healing takes place when you deal with it and are ready to move on from it.  The true test begins when the challenge shows up and your choices mirror what is healthy for you versus what is detrimental.

Be courageous and choose what you know is right for you!

  1. Cindy,

I have seen this through my journey as well as others time and time again.
The universe will hit you hard if you continue to avoid what it is that is being taught to you.
It always starts off as a subtle message that something isn’t quite right.
Then after that message is ignored, then the universe throws another wake up message.
Again, it just wasn’t clear enough.
Finally, your angels tell you look, I have been trying to reach you for years but you won’t listen!
So then the biggest challenge strikes and you become totally alert but filled with fear in how this will be accomplished.
    Then courage shows up!
My entire journey has been about courage.
I learned it well through all of my trials.
Once the lesson is truly learned, you can never go back.
Your soul just won’t have it!
    Courage is freedom!
It speaks loudly to your soul!

  2. Very good Maria! and dear one Cynthia.

I believe hitting a problem head on is the only way to get rid of it…and the dead-log feeling of carrying a burden of something or someone. When we resist, problems only persist. Live, learn and move on. But of course some of us had to be hard-headed and stubborn, namely moi…and had to learn much the hard way, before getting on track. Thank the Spirit that’s over! LOL ;o)

  3. “If many doors close you will have to decide if it is worth it to you to continue on or move in a different direction.” What a great reality check. So many motivational writings just emphasize the ‘you can do it’ piece and never acknowledge that barriers do arise.

    • Barriers absolutely do arise, Lanette, and everybody’s path is different. Follow your own inner guide and you will land exactly where you are meant to be. Just you. The barriers are a very important part of the process. Thank you for pointing that out, Lanette. Peace…
