“We Are The World” goes beyond any worldly disaster, it’s something to be practiced in our everyday lives. Hold out your hand to someone today and give with your heart.
My friend, Bobby’s Memorial Service was this past weekend. I will never forget his smile, this photo of him says a thousand words. He IS a great guy and always will be. Below is a poem a friend of Bobby’s posted in the service record. I thought it was beautiful and so true. Our friends are with us always, whether it be in human form or spirit form. Feel the breeze and their presence. They are with us, as we are with them. We love you Bobby!
DO NOT WEEP
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning’s hush
I am the soft uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there. I did not die.
“Love is blind, friendship is clairvoyant.” ~ anonymous
Friendship is the true foundation of any relationship. When we hold hands, instead of hearts, we allow those we love the freedom to expand and spread their wings. A true friend is someone who walks in when all others leave, with no attachment, no judgment, just pure love and acceptance. She is one who will sit with you for hours while you laugh, cry, and work through life’s challenges. He is one you may not talk to for years, then you pick up the phone and it’s as if your conversation never skipped a beat. You know who your true friends are. You feel it from the bottom of your heart to the top of your soul. True friends are with you, through a lifetime, no matter what.
A real friend is not blinded by the fog of being “in love”. She won’t tell you what you want to hear, she will tell you what you need to hear. She will lead with honesty and call you on your flaws. Not to hurt you, only to help you. Just as you will do the same for her. In this give and take relationship, you learn from each other, one step at a time, one lesson at a time, holding hands along this path called life.
I’ve always loved this quote; full of meaning, love, and Spirit. I am grateful for every soul that has touched my life. Those who have come and gone, those who continue to touch my life, and those I have yet to meet. Just as you have enhanced my existence, my wish is that I have done the same for you. My purpose in love is to heal, and be healed. May those I have touched feel the warmth of my soul, just as I have felt yours. Peace.
“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.”

God’s most amazing gift to each and every one of us. I thank all who have entered my life and have taught me so much along my journey. I treasure every moment, the easy and the difficult, the flow and the dams. So grateful. I love you ALL!
“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am so blessed to have amazing friends in my life! Some I have known a lifetime, some are more recent and some have re-entered my life. For whatever reason, they have connected to me in a beautifully spiritual, and often serendipitous, way. My heart fills when I think about how their love has carried me through so much in my life, as my love has surrounded them too. A true friend is one who loves you unconditionally. No judgment, no expectations, just pure love. They are the ones who are always there for you, no matter what. Friendships are give and take, and it is important to remember the giving part. It all circles around and grows with each passage of trust.
My chain of girlfriends began the day I was born. A picture of my babysitter and I sits on my mantle. I was two and she was just a teenager. She is still a member of our family to this day, I call her mama sis. She is so very special to all of us. My sisters have been there for me through thick and thin, as I have been for them. We’re sisters, a bond that never breaks and a love that never fades. My dear childhood friend who has been so full of unconditional love since I can remember, unbelievable the heart she has. My Round Robin girls, we’ve been through so much together. We started our Round Robin chain letters 30 years ago and it continues today, including fun reunion trips! My forever “roomie”, our intuitive connection never ceases to amaze me. We were assigned as roommates our first day of college and hit it off immediately! We remained together all four years and we continue to build more memories. My college swim team co-captain, who provided so much fun and support in our swimming days, and remains a wonderful friend today. My silly friend who hikes with me and takes me up these crazy hills! Always a laugh and I always feel renewed after our time together. My dear friend who has the spiritual wisdom, patience, strength and kindness that truly amazes me. A bond that was formed many years ago as Spirit brought us together. My sweet soul sister who is full of so much love, grace and compassion it’s unfathomable the light she emits. My latest wonderful Spirit connection who gives so much love and always reminds me of the importance of the spirit of the horse! All my sister-in-laws who continue to be so special to me and provide lots of beautiful colors to our family. So many friends along the way, too numerous to mention but I know I am beyond blessed to have had each of them touching my life.
Always remember your circle of friends and how their love has weaved through your life. I don’t know where I would be today without the love of friends surrounding me. As I carve my way, they have helped shape me into the spiritual being I have become. Thank you, friends. From the bottom to the top of my heart, I LOVE YOU!
For all of you reading this, I am asking something of you today. I have a friend named Bobby who has been diagnosed with cancer. He was a dear friend back in high school days, haven’t seen him in many years but the friendship connection still remains. I know the next time I talk to Bobby it will be like picking up the conversation from yesterday. That’s how close we all were. Our class of 1979 had many small groups but we all intermingled. It didn’t matter…rocks, jocks, Dead Heads, intellects, poets. We all learned something from each other back then. It has carried to this day. Maybe it was the times, maybe the energies of the people, whatever the reason I feel blessed to have had every one of you in my life.
Many of us have been emailing each other, sending prayers and loving thoughts to Bobby. Cards, calls, food made with love and care has also been sent. Trips to give more love and hugs have been planned. So much love has been traveling to Bobby and I am asking that we continue to send love and healing thoughts Bobby’s way. And yes, I use the word LOVE a lot for a reason!
All of my friends and family who are reading this….we all know the power of thought and energy that vibrates from our soul. I am asking you to send love and healing rainbows to Bobby. I’m sure he will feel it and receive it with a grateful heart. He’s been feeling so much love from so many of us already, let’s keep the circle going. For those of you willing, thank you for taking time to connect our hearts to his. WE LOVE YOU, BOBBY! xoxoxoxoxo
