How Lovable Are You?

We are only as lovable as we love ourselves.  Do you treat yourself with kindness and respect?  Do you nurture the precious person that you are?  It all begins with you.  How can you expect anyone to treat you with respect if you don’t believe you deserve it?  We truly teach others how to treat us.

Who are you?  What do you love about yourself?  Look deeply within and nurture that lovely part of you that shines.  That beautiful light that glows within and projects out into the world.  All of us have something to offer ourselves and others.  Search that pathway and follow it!  You are worth every second that you pay attention to who you are, what you need, and how you can share your gifts with all you come in contact with.  You are worth the time you give yourself today.

For those of you who think you’re “conceited” for loving yourself.  Think again.  We were all created in perfection.  In loving ourselves we show our appreciation for the gift of life.  To nurture one’s body, mind and soul is to give thanks for this very life!   It is our God-given right to feel love, happiness and joy in our lives.  Love who you are, feel kindness and compassion for all of life’s experiences, let go of the illusion of control, and watch it all flow….effortlessly.

It all starts with you…

Friendships and Funny Bones

I asked my girls last night, “What should I write about, girlfriend fun, manifestation, or ego and attachment?”  Girlfriend fun won, hands down.  Out of the mouths of babes.  The other topics will come, but I think we all need a reminder to surround ourselves with those we love and simply insert FUN into our lives!

I recently took a weekend girlfriend trip to NYC.  How long had it been since I sang in the car at the top of my lungs?  I must say, Susie and I harmonized pretty well.  Remembering all the words to Billy Joel, Dan Fogelberg, The Eagles, just to name a few.  Red lights in the city, cell phone snapshot time!  No, not of the sights, of our own silly poses!  And it didn’t stop when we joined Marjie, more pouty face, late night silly shots to come.  We were giddy and exhausted, and yes, completely enjoying each other.  There’s something to say about friendships that bring out the “girl” in you.  It allows you to be completely free with your authentic self.  No judgment, no have-to’s or supposed-to’s, only total acceptance.  Add doses of laughter and your package is complete.

I take a “Round Robin” trip with my girlfriends from high school every year.  We call ourselves the “RR” girls.  The term came from a circle of letters we’ve sent to each other over the past 30 years.  So many ups and downs, so many wonderful memories, some wild, fun times, some sad times, but always being there for each other, no matter what.  We’ve traveled to Boston, Maine, the Finger Lakes, Lake Placid, the hills of NY, Sedona, Las Vegas, Santa Cruz, Napa, and my home.  Many hikes, hot tubs, wild rides, late night talks, and interesting meets along the way tell the tale of the depth of our friendship.

Don’t pass it by.  Call a friend today, have a laugh, remember what brought you together, and relive it!  I’m so very thankful for ALL my girlfriends and the joy they bring me.  I am blessed!  You know who you are, sending you love and kisses today and everyday! Now let’s get out and PLAY!!!  xoxoxoxoxoxo

The Healing Hand

“Love me when I least deserve it, because that’s when I really need it.”  ~Swedish Proverb

We all experience times when a loved one makes us angry, pushes our buttons, and makes us wonder why we even bother to care anymore.  Often, this acting out is a cry for help and a desire to reach closer to you, even if they are pushing you away.  It is a dichotomous confusing state, but if looked at with an open heart you are able to step back and feel their pain.   Take time for your own introspection, and when ready, hold out your hand in an effort to heal both yourself and your loved one.

People are put in our lives for a reason.  They learn from us, as we learn from them.  The toughest relationships are where we learn and grow the most.  The people who bring out the heaviest of emotions are those that ruffle us enough to look inward and recognize our own flaws.  Don’t miss this valuable lesson we learn along this amazing journey called life.

Reach out to someone you love today.  Even if they push you away, your love will carry them when they aren’t able to carry themselves.  One set of footprints in the sand goes a long way…

I Will Always Love You

Remember Whitney Houston?  One of my all time favorite voices, blessed with an innate raw talent.  It’s amazing what addiction can do. Brings you to your knees. “I Will Always Love You” was written by Dolly Parton in 1973 and was brought back to life in 1992 when Whitney opened hearts with it in the film, The Bodyguard. Wishing you joy and love, Whitney…

Soul Mirror

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…”
Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)

I found some quiet, alone time late last night as I experienced “Eat, Pray, Love” at the theater.  The film is very close to the book as it covers forgiveness, love, loneliness, self soothing, letting go, fear, trust, emotional pain, and exploring your own truth.
I believe soul mates come into our lives in many different forms at different times, when we require a particular lesson.  Some remain through our lifetime, some come and go, and some we know only for a brief time.  All mirrors are valuable lessons, the key is recognizing your own shadow in what your soul mate is dancing for you.  Allow the joy, anger, pain, laughter, frustration, and euphoria to settle and rest with your spirit.  Even when you feel lost, you are simply riding your waves to the lighthouse.
Look in the mirror.  What do you see?  Ahh, the unveiling of you and me.

Lightworker’s Love

“You are a lightworker if you: feel called to heal others; want to resolve the world’s social and environmental problems; believe that spiritual methods can heal any situation; have had mystical experiences, such as psychic premonitions or angelic encounters; have endured harsh life experiences that eroded the knowledge of your Divine perfection; want to heal your own life as a first step in healing the world; feel compelled to write, teach, or counsel about your healing experiences, or feel a sense of time urgency to fulfill your mission before you know that you are here for a higher purpose, or even if you are unsure what it is or how to fulfill it.”  ~Dr. Doreen Virtue

I have had the pleasure of knowing a handful of lightworkers in my life.  You cannot miss them. When you are in their presence their light shines bright upon you and warms your heart.  Their gift of love and kindness is like no other.  You feel a happiness that fills that little crack in your heart, and when you leave them the fulfillment lingers.  I can’t help but smile when I think of my friendships and encounters with lightworkers.  Appreciate these people when they come into your life as it takes energy to give as they do.  They need to feel the love, support and warmth from us too!  As we give to each other the world becomes a healthier, sunnier place for us all!

Blessings to all the lightworkers in my life.  I love you and appreciate your never-ending love!

The Feeling of Real Love

“What really matters is to be what you really are – to be authentic, to enjoy life, to be love.  And not the symbol of love that humans have distorted, but real love – the feeling you can’t put into words, the love that is the result of being what you really are.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

When we love and respect ourselves we will naturally love and respect all life around us.  This is what brings happiness.  This is the feeling you can’t put into words.  Pure Love.  True Love.

A Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime

I’ve always loved this quote;  full of meaning, love, and Spirit.  I am grateful for every soul that has touched my life.  Those who have come and gone, those who continue to touch my life, and those I have yet to meet.  Just as you have enhanced my existence, my wish is that I have done the same for you.  My purpose in love is to heal, and be healed.  May those I have touched feel the warmth of my soul, just as I have felt yours.  Peace.

“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.”
